Hespertalbahn

Essen

Along the Baldeneyseeufer runs the Hespertalbahn, a historic museum railway, between Kupferdreh and Haus Scheppen. In operation since 1877, it was first transport and served from 1927 to the decommissioning of the coal mine Pörtingssiepen as a means of transport for the mine workforce. Today a museum train service with steam and diesel locomotives is offered.
