Gedenkstätte Zellentrakt im Herforder Rathaus

From 1917 to 1963 the prison cells ("Zellentrakt") in the town hall were used for police custody. For many victims of the Nazi regime, a path of suffering began in the years 1933-1945. To these people and their destinies the memorial reminds with a memorial room to the Jewish victims from Herford, a cell to the prison conditions in the Zellentrakt and changing exhibitions as well as the Elsbach library.
