Privately owned paintings by Fritz Bach are being sought – Grafschaftmuseum plans exhibition for 2019
The Grafschaftsmuseum in Wertheim plans to exhibit paintings by the painter Philipp Friedrich Bach -better known as Fritz Bach– in late summer.
The museum would like to supplement its extensive collection with more pictures and asks the owner of the picture to provide information on picture motifs, picture dimensions, dating and a photograph with curator Dr. Constanze Neuendorf to report. She wants to get an overview of privately owned motifs. The information is treated confidentially and is used to prepare the museum exhibition. Only then is a selection of the images from which owners would temporarily disconnect.
Bach was born in Wertheim in 1890 and studied at the Karlsruhe Academy and at Wertheim in the painting school of Fritz Lange-Dedekam. He died in Wertheim in 1972. Most of the works of this nationally unknown artist were created in oil painting or pastel chalk (behind glass). In block letters or handwriting, the signature of the artist is usually easy to read on the edge of the picture.
If you want to contribute something, you are kindly asked to contact the curator by phone between 2 pm and 4 pm from Tuesday to Thursday. By e-mail to email@example.com also photos of the objects can be sent.

In the Museum Hammerschmiede and Stockerhof Naichen a public guided tour through the special exhibition ‘Tendered – A Date with the Apron’ will take place on June 24 at 3 pm. The idea and concept of the exhibition stems from the Chair of Comparative Cultural Studies at the University of Regensburg.

No pre-registration is required and entry to the museum allows participation in the tour.
Baroque festive culture and porcelain painting at Castle Clemenswerth
At the Emslandmuseum Schloss Clemenswerth will take place on Sunday, June 17, from 2 pm to 4.15 pm in cooperation with the Volkshochschule Meppen a guided tour to the festival culture in the Baroque.
Elector Clemens August von Bayern did not want to give up his entertainment in a befitting entertainment program in the secluded landscape of the Hümmling during his hunting stays. The splendid equipment of the hunting lodge testifies to this today. Younger and older visitors will learn more about the dining and festive culture of baroque courtyards as well as about the courtly attitudes of the Sun Prince of the Rhine at the guided tour. And you can be inspired by baroque luxury dishes when painting a porcelain cup. For the participation a registration at the VHS Meppen is necessary.
Outdoor tour of the exhibition ‘Michael Riedel. Grafik als Event’
From the 9th of June to the 14th of October 2018 you can visit the exhibition Grafik as event in the Museum Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt. The exhibition is dedicated to the work of Michael Riedel. The center of the exhibition is the early work ‘Signetic Signs‘, written in 1994/95 and published for the first time in its entirety. The work was created at the beginning of the successful international career of the then 22-year-old and includes more than 1000 drawings, including drawings that are not drawn.
The exhibition spans an arc from its early work to the present day and stages graphics as an open, steady process – as a self-perpetuating system in art.
On Wednesday, June 20, from 4 to 7 pm, an outdoor guided tour with curator Dr. Eva Linhart, whose target is, among other things, the Friday kitchen and the studio of Michael Riedel. Meeting point is at the Museum Angewandte Kunst. The tour is included in the entrance fee of the museum. The number of participants is limited. You can register at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Opening of the exhibition ‘Walter Dohmen – Working on paper from five decades’ in the Suermondt Ludwig Museum
The Suermondt Ludwig Museum in Aachen presents in the exhibition ‘Walter Dohmen – works on paper from 5 decades. Neuerwerbungen’ a collection of 44 graphic sheets by the artist Walter Dohmen. With the support of the Heinz-Heinrichs-Gedächtnisstiftung, the Graphische Sammlung was able to acquire the five-decade collection from the artist living and working in Langerwehe.
You can visit the exhibition from June 16 to October 14, 2018. Walter Dohmen is mainly known for his versatile graphic work. Since the 1970s he has been experimenting with various graphic techniques in gravure printing, letterpress printing and planographic printing, whereby the printing process itself is integrated into the artistic production process. The rare technique of copperplate engraving is also part of his repertoire. In his portrayals, Walter Dohmen is never concerned with a realistic depiction of reality, but always with the characterization of inner worlds. The opening of the exhibition will take place on June 15 at 6 pm in the Kupferstichkabinett.
